HEBREW 1-2
Hebrew 1-2 is offered at MBBS each year. Due to low enrollment most recently Hebrew 1-2 has been offered as a Directed Study. Another option has been to take Hebrew 1-2 from Fresno Pacific University, where it is currently offered as a whole language course (students learn to speak the language but do less grammar initially). A student has requested that we offer Hebrew 1-2 in the traditional manner for an entire class of students. Offering Hebrew 1-2 in the classical way for a whole class demands that we have 8 (at least 6) students. Please contact Academic Dean Lynn Jost immediately (at least by June 30) if you would like to explore Hebrew 1-2 as a course. The course will be made available if demand is sufficient.

THE CHURCH BASEMENT ROADSHOW
The Church Basement Roadshow is coming to University Presbyterian Church! Enjoy presentations by Tony Jones (National Coordinator of Emergent Village), Doug Pagitt (Founder of the network that became Emergent Village and founder and pastor of Solomon's Porch) and Marck Scandrette (Executive Director and cofounder of ReIMAGINE, a center for spiritual formation in San Francisco).

ANABAPTIST GATHERING OF SEMINARIANS AT FULLER THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY

WILLOW CREEK LEADERSHIP SUMMIT AND FOLLOW-UP
MB Biblical Seminary is offering 1 unit of off-campus lectureship credit for students who attend the Willow Creek Leadership Summit, August 7-8 at Clovis Hills Church Community Church and a follow-up session with our new Assistant Professor of Pastoral Ministries Cory Seibel. It's summer (almost) and time to get that delectable reading that makes summer so enjoyable. The staff of Hiebert Library has prepared a list to help you make your choices. A mix of fiction and nonfiction, we hope there is something for everyone. Try something you might not usually consider: perhaps a graphic novel, or how about a book on math history, or maybe a book intended for young adults. Many of these are held by Hiebert Library so you can try some of them without spending money.

YOUNGEST HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR SPEAKING EXPERIENCE
For those who have been in the Cross Cultural Encounter/Counseling class:
On May 6th from 7:00 to 9:00pm at the Rex Phebus Veterans Memorial Building in Clovis, Leon Leyson, the youngest survivor from the Jewish Holocaust will be speaking about his experiences, losses and emotions. Tickets are free and available at National University Fresno Campus. Many of you received posters or flyers in your box about this event, but Vanessa Perez, one of our Instructional Assistants wanted to make sure everyone here knew about this wonderful opportunity for staff and student to hear a piece of history come to life.

An annual scholarship of $250 will be awarded to the student who write the best paper on: Jesus and the Religious World. KARL APPRECIATION DAY
It's official - this Saturday, April 26th, 2008. Come serve with others from the seminary community as we show our appreciation for Karl Muniz, the man who keeps our grounds looking great. Come at 9 a.m. and finish off the morning with lunch, which will be provided by the Student Leadership Team. Come prepared to work outside.

Derek Thiessen - Tuesday, April 29 at 1 p.m. in the California Room. His thesis is titled: "The Birth of the Savior: Situating Luke 2:1-20 in its Lukan and Greco-Roman Contexts."

Nathan Tiessen - Wednesday, April 30 at 8:30 a.m. in the Oklahoma Room - a light breakfast will be provided. His thesis is titled: "The Detail of Clothing in the Old Testament: Investigating Its Meaning and Role in Narrative."

EUGENE TROFIMENKO & FINANCIAL AID
Eugene Trofimenko (Financial Aid Director) will not be in the office from May 5th through May 26th. if you are taking summer classes and you are anticipating receiving financial aid in Federal Student Loans, please see Eugene Trofimenko before April 30th to make sure everything is in order.
