WRITING WORKSHOP
If you are a new or returning student you would like to brush up on your writing skills, you might want to attend the Writing Workshop on January 24th. The workshop will be held in the Manitoba room from 8:30 - 10:45am, and will be taught by Kelly Schroeder.

AUDITIONS
"Parable" auditions the 17th and 22nd at FPU at 7:30pm in the Kriegbaum Hall Basement. 6 actors are needed, both men and women. MBBS students welcome to try out.
"Parable is a script written by Julia Reimer, FPU Theater faculty, around the parables. It takes place after the Ascension as 6 somewhat confused people sit around waiting. These disciples (who are a little like us) remember the stories they were told and act them out together, trying to understand the stories, and hopefully the man who told them. LEVERAGING LEADERSHIP STYLES

THE MEANING AND WORK OF ANIMALS IN SANDPLAY
"The Tiger, the Bear, the Lion and Unicorn" is the title of the 3rd annual Fresno Regional sandplay conference. Featured will be Janet Tatu, LICSW, Kathleen Beavers, LCSW, with Audrey Punnett, PhD. It will be held on the MB Biblical Seminary campus, on March 8, 2008 from 9am - 4pm, with registration at 8:30. Cost is $80 for students, and those with CEU certificates is $20. This course meets the qualifications for 6 hours of continuing education credit for MFT's and/or LCSW's as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Provider PCE 782. Submitted for approval to MCEP for psychlogists.

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION
Interested in becoming more intentional about deepening your walk with God? Wanting to ensure that your own spiritual life grows along with your growth in ministry? Then read on! This semester students will have available to them a trained spiritual director experienced in working with seminary students. Deanna Frank, a graduate of Talbot School of Theology, will be offering, on campus, individual once-a-month meetings with students who wish to have another come alongside them regularly to assist them in hearing and discerning God's voice and work in their lives and ministries.

What is spiritual direction?Briefly, a spiritual director listens prayerfully to the student the Holy Spirit for the purpose of helping the student discern the work of God in his or her life. He or she may offer observations, suggest prayer practices or other spiritual disciplines which maybe be helpful, ask questions for reflection, etc. Sessions involved prayer and brief scripture meditation and are tailored to fit an individuals unique walk with God.

Some questions a spiritual director might discuss during a session are: When you bring this to God, what happens? When do you sense yourself being most receptive or most resistant to God's leading? Have you noticed a pattern in how God seems to work in this area of your life?

HONDURAS CROSS-CULTURAL ENCOUNTER/COUNSELING
requirement through doing an June 5-15, 2008 for 1.5 units. Students now have the option of meeting half of their CCE MBBS International CCE course. The first one will be June 5-15, 2008. Mark Baker will take a group of students to Honduras. The main focus of the trip will be studying Galatians in a bi-lingual and interactive setting with Central American seminary students from the Latin American Anabaptist seminary from June 9-14. Special attention will be given to pastoral and missional application of the text. MBBS students will also visit both rural and urban Christian community development projects, including Amor Fe y Vida Church.
Students with interest in the CCE Honduras trip should be alert to a change in the cost of the trip. The cost of the Honduras trip will include tuition plus a course fee of $350 plus airfare. Our first announcement did not include mention of the course fee. Please accept our apologies for unclear communication. Please contact Mark Baker if you have interest in CCE Honduras.

GRANT AVAILABLE FOR PASTORS
The Lilly Endowment, through its National Clergy Renewal Program, makes grants of up to $45,000 available to support an extended time of Sabbath rest and renewal for the pastor and his or her family, and to support their congregations in renewal activities. This program is open to Christian congregations that are served by a pastor having a Master of Divinity degree from an accredited Association of Theological Schools seminary. CHANGE IN PAYMENT POLICY
Change in Installment payment plan policy: We will only accept arrangements to make payments by credit card or automatic withdrawal from checking accounts on a monthly basis until the end of the semester. The reason for this is so we can set up the payments automatically and we don't have to track them manually.
